Now in our seventh consecutive year, the award-winning, soul-soothing Summer Spaaah Series offers a line-up of seven amazing resort spa events. Tickets start at $110 and include an evening reception with wine and chef delights, a fabulously chic beach bag filled with spa and beauty goodies, a charity raffle and mini spa services. Guests also receive a “Spaaah” certificate valid toward one full spa treatment and use of the spa amenities on the day of their choice within 30 days after the event (unless noted otherwise). A percentage of each ticket sold and a portion of sponsorship dollars go directly to Fresh Start Women’s Foundation. It’s a win-win for all!

So, how do you qualify to win TWO FREE tickets to first event at Joya Spa on May 18th? Simple!

Tickets to the 2012 Summer Spaaah Series are officially now on sale!

So, where are we off to?

This is a very exciting season for us. With seven events that span the state, we’re starting our journey with a group “ahhh” at the venerable Joya Spa at Montelucia in Paradise Valley. From there, we’ll travel to Tucson’s Westin La Paloma Resort for a Red Door respite framed by the majestic Santa Catalina Mountains. We’ll round the corner on the official summer season at the exquisite Spa Avania at Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale and then tool our way to the West Valley for a bit more Red Door revelry at the historic Wigwam. While the summer heat blankets the state, we’ll cool off at the historic Arizona Biltmore Spa in Phoenix and then plop up our feet at the tranquil Agave Spa at the Westin Kierland in Scottsdale. Finally, we’ll  wrap up the series in red rock country at the boutique Amara Spa, which sits on the banks of Oak Creek in the bustling Uptown area.

You’ll adore what we have in store for you this year! While the goodies in the bags will vary from event to event, the absolutely adorable bag itself won’t. An inflatable hot pink tote (yes, it floats!), the roomy bag is perfect for toting to the pool, summer picnics and of course, spa-ing your way through the summer.

One little thing

We have had one policy change as required by the spas as a stipulation of their participation. Gratuity will not be included in this year’s Spaaah Certificate. While we fought tooth and toenail to keep it, spa management felt that the compensation for their therapists was a must during their off-season. We lowered ticket prices where feasible and have lots of surprises in store to more than make up for the cost of gratuity.

Finally, this year, we’re celebrating two 10-year anniversaries. Fresh Start Women’s Foundation is celebrating 10 years of empowering women through the services of the Jewell McFarland Lewis Resource Center in Phoenix. A little pink website called Arizona Spa Girls was also born 10 years ago. With our mutual missions of inspiring and educating women on how to care for their inner and outer beauty, Arizona Spa Girls has pledged our to support Fresh Start in reaching their fundraising goal of $100,000.

We did it again, thanks to all our guests and amazing sponsors! Arizona Spa Girls, Arizona’s leading beauty and wellness website and online resource, wrapped up our sixth annual Summer Spaaah Series with record-breaking numbers. We raised more than $11,000 for the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation and successfully filled each event to capacity.

The popular Summer Spaaah Series is a luxury series of resort spa events that gives locals and out-of-state visitors a full spa experience at a discounted price while generating exposure and revenue for spas during Arizona’s scorching off-season. Among this summer’s six separate events, 800 tickets were sold. Arizona Spa Girls donated 5% of every ticket sold, plus, donated 100% of raffle sales to Fresh Start. The raffle alone brought in a whopping $8,065 for the Phoenix-based non-profit dedicated to helping women help themselves.

“Every year Arizona Spa Girls Summer Spaaah Series provides us with the necessary funds to build programs and educate women in the Valley,” said Dara Gibson, Director of Events for Fresh Start. “This year we were ‘wowed’ at the amount of money raised and we look forward to many more years of collaborating with the Spaaah Series.”

Smartwater presents 2011 Summer Spaaah Series is back for its sixth and biggest season yet!

It’s back, baby! The 2011 smartwater presents Summer Spaaah Series is breezing into town for its sixth season and this year, it’s bigger and better than ever. Cooling off the Valley during our scorching summer months, the events bring together luxury and fun with six soirées brimming with value. We’re pulling out all the stops with handful of Arizona’s top spas including a road trip to Sedona for our first-ever destination spa event at Mii amo. Produced by Arizona Spa Girls and benefiting Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, these events unite wellness seekers with local spas during the off-season and offer the perfect excuse to chill out and give to a good cause!

This year we’re featuring some returning favorites along with new locations on the lineup. The 2011 dates and destinations include:

• May 6: Agave, The Arizona Spa at Westin Kierland Resort, Scottsdale
• June 3: Spa Avania at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch
• June 17: Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa at The Wigwam, Litchfield Park

• July 30-31: Mii amo, a destination spa at Enchantment Resort, Sedona
• August 12: Willow Stream Spa at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort

Tickets to the resort events include an open house reception with cocktails and spa samplings, a keepsake tote bag spilling with goodies to keep attendees glowing inside and out, a certificate for a spa treatment on the day of the guest’s choice valid within 30 days after the event, gratuities and full use of the spa amenities on the day of the guest’s visit.

Ticket to the Mii amo destination spa weekend are all inclusive of one night’s accommodations, a welcome brunch, spa treatment including gratuity, planned activities such as a wine tasting and sunset yoga, gift bag, full use of the resort and spa amenities, taxes and resort fees.

At the heart of the Series is the mission to bring spa destinations and local residents together while helping out a great cause. Since 2006, the summer spa events have been named the Phoenix New Times “Best Way to Get Pampered for a Good Cause” and received numerous awards from International Festivals and Events Association-endorsed APS AzTEC Awards including 2007 Event of the Year (for events under 20K participants). The event has raised thousands of dollars for Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, a Phoenix-based organization that empowers women to help themselves.
